Divide your members into smaller groups of 3, then have each group answer the following question. After the groups have discussed and come up with an answer, have them share their responses with the larger group.
"If you were coaching a team of 'never experienced Christmas before' men and women, what three strategies would you tell them were absolute musts in order to enjoy the season? Why?"
What color best describes your group members today?

Bring a box of colored pencils to the small-group meeting. Pass around the box and ask everyone to pick one colored pencil that best describes their mood today. Then give everyone an opportunity to explain why they chose that color.
Each person divides reviews their lives in quarters.

Have group members take the number of years they have lived and divide that number by 4. For example, if a person is 44 years old, he or she would divide that number by 4 to get 11.
Once everyone in the group has their number, pass out pens and paper and have each person chart out his or her life in 4 sections, with each section corresponding to the increment he or she came up with.
Light one large candle and put it somewhere in the middle of the room where your group is meeting. Explain that this candle represents God. Then give each person a smaller unlit candle and ask them to think of one question they would like an answer to (i.e., why do children have to suffer?).
